Dasur SlideIT Keyboard is an interesting application. As the name suggests SlideIT keyboard replaces the traditional Nokia keyboard and allows you type text by sliding your stylus all across the keyboard. The Dasur keyboard can be used in two modes i.e the ABC mode which is the normal Nokia like mode and the SlideIT mode which is sliding across the keyboard. It also has a Graffiti mode which supports only numbers and other mathematical operators and punctuations. Graffiti mode is nothing but the handwriting recognition mode. For Nokia X6
I really wonder why Nokia did not think of providing a touch based lock/unlock feature in Nokia X6. There are some third party applications though which make it possible to lock/unlock your phone the Iphone way but that is mostly flash based and puts a lot of stress on the already depleted phone resources like RAM and battery.
PocketSensor Automatic Keylock is a nice application to have on your phone. It adds a very simple yet superb capability to your phone. It allows you to cover/swipe your finger over the proximity sensor and lock/unlock your phone. Since, the application does not use the front camera, the RAM and the battery usage is minimal and thus, it is light on the phone’s resources.
For those who are not aware with the term ‘proximity sensor’, it is located just beside your front VGA camera and locks/unlocks your phone when your cover it. The actual functionality of this sensor in Nokia X6 is to switch off the screen when you receive a call and you hold the phone close to your ear.
Nokia Beta Labs has recently launched an application ‘Nokia Diagnostics v1.0‘ for performing diagnostic checks on your mobile phone. This application does not have a lot of significant functionalities as of now but with this prototype Nokia is planning to build a solution for people where in they can troubleshoot their phone all by themselves. Nokia X6 is completely supported by this application. Currently, this application does some basic checks on your phone which even you can do without this application.
Mobiquus happens to be another runner in the Push Email domain after Road Sync, Emoze, etc. It is a java application which does not support Microsoft Exchange but supports the POP3/IMAP protocols actively. It works much on the same principal as other Push Email services but there is a slight change in the way you actually receive the emails. For Nokia X6
Moove Mp3 Player is an excellent mp3 player to have on your phone. It uses the hand motion to pause and change tracks. It uses the front video call camera to detect the hand motion. If you just wave your hand across the front secondary camera, the track changes automatically and if you simply tap on the front camera, the song currently getting played pauses. What really amazes me is the accuracy with which the player works. You would not find a single instance when you swipe your hand across and the player does not recognize. for nokia X6
