Sometimes when you install and launch any Java or Flash application in your Nokia X6 and C6. It shows you a d-pad like the one shown in the following image. Here we are taking example of e-buddy mobile messenger application.

D-PAD
But sometime you really don’t need this d-pad because these applications can be run by just touching. In that case, you wish to remove it. Here is the way, you can get rid of d-pad for any application.

Step 1:
Go to settings–> Application mgr.–> Installed apps. –>the-application

Step 2:
Right click on the application you selected in step 1 and select Suite Settings. It will open a screen as given in the following image.

Suite Settings
Step 3:
Select On-Screen Keyboard option and the select off as given in the following image.

off
Now you are ready to use our e-buddy application without any d-pad as shown in the following image.

In the same way, you can again have your d-pad when needed just by selecting Game and navig. keys option.

  1. How can I “Right click on the application you selected”? I don’t understand that on a touch screen

  2. Hi,
This works only on installed applications. (note: INSTALLED)
And as we know, flash-lite files doesn’t have to be installed on cellphones. So if you want to disable the D-Pad in any of your .swf apps, you have to pack the file into a .sis by using KuneriLite, for example.
However, when doing this on a s60 v5 device, there is no options to enable the D-Pad anymore.
    & this doesn’t work on a s60 v3 at all.

Correct me if i’m wrong. I’ve just read stuff about this while experimenting..

  3. Thank You sooo much!!! ;)

  21. Yes, I agree. One important part of the curernt cloud-service possibilities would then be to allow extended access via the existing user interface. Making certain fucntions and parts of existing user interface availble in the cloud (or DMZ).Today we spend a lot of time on integrations usually just sending data to humans that are not users in our system. Sometimes these users responds back on this in a structured way (integrated or not).If they could access IFS directly we would save a lot of integration work and would be able to add a lot of additional value that an integration cannot give. The missing piece here is the data dependent security models you would need. These external users should just see a restricted set of data (very much like one of our own sales guys could just be allowed to see his own prospects and contacts in CRM).Here a traditional user license model can be questioned. With this kind of possibilities IFS user interface would be reached not only by IFS customers’ end user but also their customers and suppliers. IFS would really be setting standards, being discussed, be in the flow etc. So the potential in this would justify rather large investments, wouldn’t it?The earlier b2b web client solutions where one user is connected to one customer id or vendor id is not possible to use for us. We want it more flexible when defining the different datasets an external user should be allowed to access.
